Whether in the air or on the sea, Jacques has always been attracted by adventure. A sailor since the age of 9, it is naturally on the water that he has taken on his biggest challenges. However, all this could have come to an end in 2007 when his renal system suddenly malfunctioned in the middle of a transatlantic race. In 2008, he was saved thanks to the donation of a kidney from a childhood friend.
Since then, he keeps on showing that organ donation allows people to live an exciting and intense life and thus restores hope to transplant patients or people waiting for an organ. It is also his way of saying thank you to the medical profession and to life.
After completing the Route du Rhum in 2018 that has been remembered as one of the toughest ever, Jacques is now taking on a new challenge aboard a historic boat designed by a legend of the sea, Dick Newick.
